Seeed Studio XIAO nRF52840 Plus - More GPIO for Serious Bluetooth Projects
The XIAO nRF52840 has been one of the most popular boards in the XIAO ecosystem and for good reason. Powered by Nordic's nRF52840 with a hardware floating point unit (FPU), it delivers rock-solid Bluetooth LE 5.4, NFC support, and ultra-low power consumption in a tiny 21 x 17.8 mm form factor.
The Plus variant builds on everything that made the standard nRF52840 great by adding 9 additional SMD GPIO pins via redesigned back-side castellations. These extra pins are specifically designed for advanced Bluetooth projects where expanded I/O is essential, accessible via 1.27 mm pitch SMD board-to-board soldering, bringing the total to 20 GPIOs.
All the core capabilities remain intact: Bluetooth LE 5.4 (one of the most up-to-date BLE standards on any XIAO board), NFC for proximity-based applications, ultra-low power for battery deployments, and full compatibility with the XIAO accessory ecosystem. Supports Arduino, MicroPython, and the nRF Connect SDK.
