Jasper
In a dystopian near future, the robots we built now recklessly strip the world of its natural resources. Meet Jasper, a steam-punk animatronic dragon who is a construct of destructive robots who rampage across the earth. Having the strength of a thousand robots and the advantage of flight, Jasper could be the destroyer of all destroyers.
With Jasper on their side, his robot-makers are ready to celebrate their omnipotence. However, those celebrations might be short-lived if Jasper decides to fight back! After taking refuge in a small and fragile oasis, Jasper has defied his programming and vows to save the planet. He is summoning the energy to take on the evil robots, and he needs your help! Can you wake Jasper? How many voices will it take to incite Jasper’s thunderous growl and steel-melting flames? When you and your friends join a chorus of fellow festival-goers, your collective chant will rouse Jasper. His wings and body will light up. His jaws will open and… ROOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!
Jasper is giving voice to the voiceless and strength to the weak. This impressive kinetic light installation reminds us that the planet is not ours alone. It is a world shared with all forms of life, and it’s not too late to create a brighter future! Jasper is the brainchild of Sydney-based father and son duo K&A Electronics. They channel their passion for electronics and robotics into making motion-sensitive light installations that delight audiences, including KA3323 – the interactive retro-futuristic satellite dish allowed audiences to scan the night skies for signals from space.
