Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-C6 - The Matter-Native Smart Home Board
Smart home connectivity has been fragmented for years and Wi-Fi devices that don't talk to Zigbee hubs, Zigbee sensors that can't reach your Wi-Fi router, and Thread networks that need their own border routers. The Matter protocol was designed to fix all of that, and the Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-C6 is purpose-built to run it.
Based on Espressif's ESP32-C6 SoC, this tiny board natively supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth LE 5.0, Zigbee, and Thread, all four of the protocols that Matter runs on. That means a single board can act as a Matter device across multiple protocol layers, bridging the gap between different ecosystems without additional hardware.
Under the hood, the ESP32-C6 runs a dual RISC-V architecture, a high-performance core at up to 160 MHz for main application logic, and a low-power core at up to 20 MHz for background tasks and wake-from-sleep operations. Combined with 512KB SRAM and 4MB Flash and hardware-level chip encryption, it's a well-rounded platform for building secure, production-ready smart home devices.
